When I first had my daughter, a top knot was about as sophisticated as it got in the hair stakes. Three months in, I realised my previously blonde hair was only visible at the end of a whole lot of dark roots. How can you keep your coloured hair looking good now you have less time to spend in foils? Josh Wood’s lovely colleague – and star hairdresser – Tony Culver has the answer, and it’s satisfyingly simple. Print this out and take it to your hairdresser.
“Highlighting hair or placing colour in small areas is less maintenance than a full head tint, if you already have a full tint you can get your colourist to place colour in the form of low lighting or highlighting to avoid major grow out.”
I’d also recommend a gloss so you can lengthen the gap between highlight appointments – it’s simply painted on and washed out quickly, but freshens up your colour a treat.
